The Department of Philosophy organizes information sessions for students in the 11th and 12th grades of upper secondary school (Lyceum) during the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. The sessions aim to introduce students to Philosophy and to the contemporary career prospects opened up by a degree in Philosophy, as well as to present the Department’s curriculum.

The sessions will take place every Tuesday at the premises of the School of Philosophy in Rethymno, from 12:00 to 13:30, on the following dates:

• February 11, 18, 25
• March 4, 11, 18
• April 1, 8, 29
• May 6, 13, 20

Interested high schools may apply to participate in the above sessions from January 7, 2025 until one week prior to their desired visit date by sending an email to the Secretariat of the Department of Philosophy at: gram@fks.uoc.gr (tel. +30 28310 77211). The email should state the number of students who will attend the session, as well as the contact details of the responsible teacher.

High schools that are unable to visit the Department of Philosophy may request an online information session via Zoom, conducted by members of the Department of Philosophy, or an in-person visit at the school premises (for schools based in Crete), by sending an email to the Chair of the Department, K. Bantinaki, at: bantinaki@uoc.gr. Online or in-person sessions will be scheduled on a date and time agreed upon by the responsible teacher and the Chair of the Department.
