The Erasmus Program is the established exchange platform that enables cooperation between recognized European Higher Education Institutions, specifically for the temporary mobility of students and academic staff from one such institution to a corresponding institution in another European country. The main objectives of the program are the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and skills, the promotion of joint activities, continuing education and training, the enhancement of mobility, and the advancement of common educational standards throughout the European Higher Education Area. During the period 2014–2020, the Erasmus university exchange program continued in an enhanced form within the framework of Erasmus+, namely the broader program of the European Commission for education, training, youth, and sport.
The Department of Philosophy has developed an extensive network of Erasmus collaborations with similar university departments in many European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Turkey, and the Czech Republic). These collaborations are utilized to a large (and steadily increasing) extent by the Department’s students, who choose to complete part of their studies at one of the partner institutions abroad. Correspondingly, the Department welcomes students from partner institutions every year.
You may view the detailed list of the Department’s collaborations by clicking here (https://erasmus.uoc.gr/symfonies-erasmus/tmima-filosofias-bilateral-agreements/).
The table lists, for each individual program/agreement, the available places as well as the responsible academic coordinator from the Department, whom you may contact for information regarding the specific program.
The general Erasmus Program coordinators for the Department of Philosophy, whom you may contact for broader information and guidance, are Nikolaos Erinakis, Assistant Professor (nikos.erinakis@uoc.gr), and Spyros Tegos, Associate Professor (tegos@uoc.gr).
At the Department of Philosophy, in every academic semester, some courses are taught in English and can be attended by incoming Erasmus students. Several other courses (that are normally taught in Greek) are open to incoming Erasmus students in the form of regular tutorials.
