The purpose of the Center for Psychological and Counseling Support is:
To support students in getting to know themselves better and in addressing their developmental needs in the best possible way, through the cultivation of academic, emotional, and interpersonal skills.
To provide individual and group psychological support services to students who face temporary difficulties related to developmental, personal, or educational issues.
The Center operates two branches, one in Rethymno and one in Heraklion. It is staffed by permanent or contract administrative personnel (psychologists, social workers, sociologists) and is supervised by a five-member Scientific Committee, while administratively it belongs to the Rectorate of the University.
In order to achieve its goals, when deemed necessary, the Student Counseling Center seeks collaboration with academic advisors and other University services. It also cooperates with public health services in the cities of Rethymno and Heraklion, as well as with external scientific collaborators.
