The institution of the Academic Advisor (Law 4009, Government Gazette A 195/06.09.2011, Article 35) gives students the opportunity for regular communication and interaction with a faculty member of the Department who has been appointed to monitor their academic progress. Upon enrollment, students are informed of the name and contact details of their Academic Advisor. Through their advisor, students can obtain reliable information on any matter related to the Undergraduate Program of Studies (UPS) and participation in the educational process, as well as on the available support services of the University and ways of addressing potential difficulties that may hinder academic success.

The Academic Advisors of the Undergraduate Program of Studies:
(a) monitor students’ academic progress throughout their studies (by organizing meetings at the beginning of the semester and after the announcement of examination results, as well as whenever deemed necessary);
(b) assist students in selecting appropriate courses in order to meet their individual goals (e.g., postgraduate studies, career prospects, etc.); and
(c) guide students, when needed, to University services that can provide various forms of support, such as meals, housing, financial aid, healthcare, and psychological support.

Students may contact their Academic Advisor regarding any issues of concern from their first year and throughout the duration of their studies. The first meeting of the academic year takes place after the official start of the winter semester. Subsequent meetings are scheduled following mutual agreement between the student and the Academic Advisor.

For the 2024–2025 academic year, the Assembly of the Department of Philosophy has appointed the following Academic Advisors by year of study:

• First-year students: Maria Venieri, Evangelia Papadaki, Giannis Pissis
• Second-year students: Eleni Kaklamanou
• Third-year students: Kostas Koukouzelis
• Fourth-year students and above: Katerina Bantinaki
